Upstream Tech is a climate technology company that uses satellites and machine learning to help organizations manage and monitor natural resources. We have two Software as a Service products, Lens and HydroForecast.
Role
We’re looking for a Finance Manager who will be responsible for managing all financial and accounting activities within the company.
Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
Manage monthly bookkeeping and close, with a focus on revenue recognition, personnel expenses, commission accruals, etc.
Prepare and analyze detailed management reports, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements.
Prepare monthly and quarterly variance analysis and identify key drivers affecting financial performance.
Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings as it pertains to sales tax and VAT.
Monitor, update and report on Key performance indicators (KPIs) on a monthly basis.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial processes and improve reporting accuracy.
Assist in building and maintaining incentive compensation models
Assist in audit and tax preparation
Assist in business filings and record maintenance
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
5-7 years of progressive experience in Accounting
Advanced Google Suite experience, especially in Google Sheets
3+ years of experience using Stripe and Quickbooks
Hubspot experience - highly preferred
SaaS startup experience - highly preferred
General understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Compensation & Benefits
Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, market location, business needs, other compensation components, and/or market demands. The starting base salary for this role is $95,000.
This role will be eligible for a performance incentive bonus related to individual and company performance, as well as an equity grant in the form of options.
